More on Paper Innovation
Here’s an interesting follow up to yesterday’s posting about Xerox’s ongoing innovations in developing new types of traditional paper and forward-looking “erasable” stock for printing applications.
In the midst of its reporting about the biggest economic upheaval to hit this country in decades, The Wall Street Journal found time to announce the winners of its 2008 Technology Innovation Awards, and some other Xerox paper developments earned runner-up rankings in two categories.
For "Materials and Other Base Technologies," the WSJ cited Xerox technology that enables traditional office paper and toners to be used for ultraviolet and infrared print jobs. The benefit is a way to make “printed materials more secure and readily authenticated,” the awards judges said.
Similarly, in the "Environment" category, the Journal recognized Xerox’s High Yield Business Paper for using 50 percent fewer trees in its production process than traditional paper
It’s nice to know that even something as staid as paper may enhance a solution provider’s ability to deliver more secure and more environmentally friendly applications to end users.
